We are extremely excited to announce that Dr. Elizabeth VanLeeuwen will be joining Academy Dental Care! With her passion for high-quality, comprehensive dentistry, she strives to make recommendations and give advice about oral health. Her patients over the years have become like family, and it is important to her that they remain relaxed and comfortable. As a partner in her patients’ care, she can make treatment recommendations based on experience but ultimately wants to work with them to make the best decisions. Like all good dentists, she is keenly aware of the connection between dental health and overall systemic health, allowing her to focus her treatment plans on comprehensive care addressing underlying causes of dental issues to achieve better and longer-lasting results. 

Dr. Elizabeth VanLeeuwen graduated from Northwestern University with a BA in Psychology in 1996. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in May of 2000 and completed a one-year General Practice Residency in Chicago through the Advocate Healthcare system after dental school. Continuing education is a big priority for her, and every time she attends a class it infuses a new love and excitement for dentistry. For the last 22 years, she has worked in both private and corporate dentistry. Her ultimate goal was to find a practice that aligned with her values and desire to provide the highest quality comprehensive dental care, and we’re thrilled she has found it here at Academy Dental Care! 

Originally from the midwest, Dr. VanLeeuwen currently resides in Albuquerque and is a mom to two fantastic teenage girls, the oldest of whom just received her learner’s permit! In her free time, she loves to ski, hike, and run. She also loves curling up with a good book when she can.  

We’re incredibly excited for her to join the team at Academy Dental Care and can’t wait to start working with her!
